"Chypre", launched by Coty in 1917, created the reputation of this facet named after Cyprus which was a very fashionable summer resort at the time. The perfume was extremely successful and became a new source of inspiration : in 1919 Guerlain also brought out a Chypre called Mitsouko. A harmony that has become a basic structure a perfumer can then build on any way he wants. Chypre is still a major blend in the history of perfume made of bergamot, rose, jasmine, patchouli, labdanum and oakmoss.
